Ένα ακόμη πρόσωπο από το χώρο του θεάματος έφυγε από τη ζωή και αναφερόμαστε στον Anthony Bourdain, σεφ, συγγραφέα και ταξιδιωτικό δημοσιογράφο. Ο Bourdain σε ηλικία 61 ετών αυτοκτόνησε στις 8 Ιουνίου, όταν βρισκόταν στη Γαλλία για τα γυρίσματα της σειράς του.
Σύμφωνα με το CNN, o φίλος και συνεργάτης του, Εric Ripert, τον βρήκε αναίσθητο στο δωμάτιο του ξενοδοχείου του κι έπειτα επιβεβαιώθηκε ο θάνατός του:
Με μεγάλη λύπη μπορούμε να επιβεβαιώσουμε το θάνατο του φίλου μας και συνάδελφου Anthony Bourdain. H αγάπη του για την περιπέτεια, τους νέους φίλους, το καλό φαγητό και τις αξιοσημείωτες ιστορίες του από τον κόσμο, τον έκαναν μοναδικό παραμυθά. Τα ταλέντα του δεν σταμάτησαν ποτέ να μας εκπλήσσουν και θα μας λείψει πολύ. Οι σκέψεις μας και οι προσευχές μας είναι με τη κόρη του και την οικογένειά του.
Εκτός από την αγάπη του για το φαγητό και τα ταξίδια, το άλλο μεγάλο πάθος του ήταν η μουσική. Δεν ήταν λίγες οι φορές τις οποίες είχε προσκαλέσει μουσικούς να συμμετέχουν στις εκπομπές του. Πρόσφατα μάλιστα ο Bourdain έκανε περιοδεία στην Αρμενία με τη βοήθεια του Serj Tankian ως ξεναγό.
Όπως ήταν αναμενόμενο λοιπόν ο θάνατός του κέντρισε το ενδιαφέρον της μουσικής κοινότητας και πολλοί σπουδαίοι καλλιτέχνες έσπευσαν να εκφράσουν τα συλλυπητήριά τους μέσα από τα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης.

Ο Bourdain ήταν στενός φίλος με τον Josh Homme, έχοντας γυρίσει ένα ολόκληρο επεισόδιο της εκπομπής ‘No Reservations’ μαζί με τον frontman των QOTSA, ενώ οι δυο τους συνεργάστηκαν και για το μουσικό θέμα του show ‘Parts Unknown’.

Kitchen Confidential was the greatest book about a chef’s life at the time-,it spawned the whole “foodie” phenomenon as well as the modern era of Kitchen Lit. Anthony Bourdain was the Real Deal. Very upsetting to hear of his apparent suicide death.
