Σε υπόθεση του ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ εξελίχθηκε η 95η τελετή απονομής των βραβείων Oscar, με την Ακαδημία να δίνει τα πάντα όλα στην ταινία.
Έχοντας ηγηθεί των υποψηφιοτήτων με 11, το ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ εξαργύρωσε με 7 αγαλματίδια, κερδίζοντας σχεδόν όλες τις μεγάλες κατηγορίες σε μια αντιστροφή της περσινής απονομής, που είχε δει το ‘Dune’ να συλλέγει 6 Oscar σχεδόν αποκλειστικά από τον τεχνικό κλάδο των βραβείων.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η παραγωγή των Daniel Kwan και Daniel Scheinert κέρδισε στις κατηγορίες Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Καλύτερου Γυναικείου Ρόλου για τη Michelle Yeoh, που έγινε η πρώτη γυναίκα ασιατικής καταγωγής με αυτήν τη διάκριση, Καλύτερου Δεύτερου Αντρικού και Δεύτερου Γυναικείου Ρόλου για τον Ke Huy Quan, στην πρώτη του υποψηφιότητα για Oscar, και την Jamie Lee Curtis.
Οι ‘Daniels’ επίσης αναγνωρίστηκαν για τη δημιουργία τους με το Oscar Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας, το πρώτο δίδυμο εδώ και 15 χρόνια που το καταφέρνει αυτό μετά τους αδερφούς Coen και το ‘No Country for Old Men’, καθώς και με το βραβείο Καλύτερου Πρωτότυπου Σεναρίου. Ένα ακόμα αγαλματίδιο για το Καλύτερο Μοντάζ ολοκλήρωσε το θρίαμβο.
Η μόνη εκ των κατηγοριών ερμηνείας στην οποία το ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ δεν είχε υποψηφιότητα για Oscar ήταν αυτή του Καλύτερου Αντρικού Ρόλου, όπου μάλλον αναμενόμενα το Oscar πήγε στον Brendan Fraser για το ρόλο του στο ‘The Whale’, με την ταινία να αποσπά και μια ακόμα νίκη για το Καλύτερο Μακιγιάζ.
Η άλλη ταινία που σημείωσε σημαντική επιτυχία στα βραβεία Oscar 2023 ήταν το ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, που από τις 9 υποψηφιότητές του συγκέντρωσε τελικά 4 διακρίσεις, στις κατηγορίες Καλύτερης Διεθνούς Ταινίας, Καλύτερης Φωτογραφίας, Καλύτερης Παραγωγής και επίσης Καλύτερης Μουσικής.
Μεγάλοι χαμένοι της βραδιάς ήταν τα ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ και ‘Elvis’, που έφυγαν με άδεια χέρια παρά τις 9 και 8 υποψηφιότητες αντίστοιχα και τις επιτυχίες του πρώτου στις Χρυσές Σφαίρες, ενώ μηδενική συγκομιδή είχε και το ‘Tár’ από 6 υποψηφιότητες.
